Mrs. Wik and her Grade 6 Science students had a special guest visit on Thursday, October 5, thanks to the Alberta Science Network – ASN.
Mr. Dale Bawol (an air traffic controller, pilot, and air cadet glider instructor) talked with the students about aerodynamics and the theory of flight. Students also made paper airplanes with a template or made their own airplane designs, where they tested them to see how far the planes flew!
There were also many questions for Mr. Bawol when he showed the students a recording of a real air traffic controller screen. The students were fascinated to see what takes place in the air!
The Alberta Science Network tweeted this after Mr. Bawol’s visit.
A great Science morning!
