Monday, December 18

  • Grade 5/6 basketball practice after school.

 

 

Students are helping to make the Grinch’s heart grow this week. Each time students recognize an act of kindness, they are invited to make note of it on a red heart and post it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tuesday, December 19

Last day for students to guess the number of candies in the candy jar – sponsored by the Leadership Class.

Thursday, December 21

Please join us for our Christmas Celebration on December 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30. Parents, students and family are welcome to come! We will have games and activities, refreshments and entertainment!

This is a come and go event, but you are welcome to spend the entire evening with us.

Emails were sent home December 8. Please RVSP so that we can anticipate the number of guests.

Monday, December 11

A friendly reminder from FANHS that our Purdy’s Chocolate shipment is scheduled to arrive on Monday, December 11th.

We are asking that all orders be picked up by Tuesday, December 12th at the latest.  Orders that are small enough will be sent home with students.
Should the shipment be delayed we will email you with as much notice as possible.

 

Friday, December 15

Imagine and Create! NHS will be having another I & C event on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. I & C events promote positive multi-grade interactions and creative problems solving in a school-wide activity.

 

Coming Up Next Week

Wear your most festive holiday garb and we’ll enjoy hot chocolate, popcorn and a few fun activities such as Fish Pond, Festive Photo Booth and performances from each grade-Kindergarten to Grade 6 as well as the Jr. High Music Class (Rock Band) and our choirs! We may even have a visit from Santa Claus!

 

 

 

Crusaders School Night Out

Sherwood Park Crusaders: School Night Out

On December 7 and 8, members of the Sherwood Park Crusaders will be in the school helping our students develop floor hockey skills.

After the workshops have been completed, students will receive a free  ticket to the Crusader game on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. when they will be taking on the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Sherwood Park Arena.

It’d be great to see an NHS continent out at the game!

 

 

 

The Week Ahead (December 4-8)

 

Monday, December 4

The Strathcona Christmas Bureau will be here on Monday picking up the donations brought in by the NHS school community. Thank you Mrs. Watson and her Grade 5s for organizing the campaign. Thank you also to the parents, students, and staff for your generous support of the campaign that went from November 20 – December 1.

Tuesday, December 5

The Jr. Boys Nighthawks basketball team has begun practice. The boys will be practicing every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

The girls team will begin practice soon.

Look forward to NHS Nighthawk beginning in January.

 

 

Wednesday, December 6

  • Early Dismissal Day: Please remember that school is dismissed at 2:14 p.m.

 

Thursday, December 7 & Friday, December 8

 

Members of the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) will be coming into the school on Thursday and Friday morning to assist students develop their floor hockey skills.

Thank you to the Crusaders for making yourselves available to our students!

On Friday, students will be receiving a free ticket to their Friday Night Game for the Crusader School Night Out.
