Below is the admissions process to New Horizons School for the 2017-2018 school year for kindergarten and grades 1-9.

Fees

  • New Horizons is a publicly funded school. We have no tuition fees.
  • Our fees are annual school fees typical of all other public schools.

Important Dates

  • January 16: NHS Information Night @7pm
  • February 17: Application Deadline
  • March 3: In-School Assessment Day (Intake Day)

School Tours

  • In order to keep disruptions to a minimum, we ask that parents not request individual school tours. However, we understand the importance of touring the school while it is in session.
  • Therefore, we will be providing an opportunity to visit the school while it is in session after all applications have been processed. The date will be announced.

Processing Applications

  • All applications will be processed after the March 3 Intake Day.
  • Note that we will be filling available spaces based on the degree to which the application meets the admissions criteria, and not the date in which the application was filed.
  • All applications will be reviewed by an Applications Committee.
  • Our goal is to have applications processed and parents notified within three weeks of Intake Day
  • If we accept more applications than the number of available spaces, the Admissions Committee will determine which applicants will be placed on a wait list.

Admissions Handbook

In order to assist you, we have published an Admissions Handbook for grades K-9.
